Zygnema is India's premier Heavy/Thrash Groove metal band who have earned the title of 'People's Favorite Band' since the time of their existence and India's only metal act that flawlessly packs venues on any given day.  Zygnema has scooped up a bunch of awards for both their albums and have registered their presence nationally and globally. The band continues to dominate and put out music that will only take them a step higher and leave the audience amazed.

After conquering massive stages at Wacken Open Air, Inferno Metal Festival, Osna Metal Fest, Silence Festival & more, the band managed to leave a great impression on the Europeans thus resulting in a growing fan base mainly in countries like Germany, Norway, France. Poland etc. A self curated 16 city tour across Europe in 2019 was just the beginning of their journey, now the band has already set eyes on a few more cities to add to the tally post the launch of their 3rd album.

If you were to introduce your music and genre to someone unaware of your music, how would you?

Just a bunch of dudes head-banging, having fun and playing nois(e)y music.

Tremors of Last Release

Our latest single was titled ‘I am Nothing’. More than inspiration, it was out of sheer frustration and anger. We hadn’t decided about the lyrical content when the music was being made. What kept happening across the country managed to find its way into our music, and a way out as a message. It speaks about the brutality a victim goes through and how ‘justice is usually denied by delaying’ One needs to watch the video to connect with it.

One artist you'd like to collaborate with, but you know it's not the right time now.

Not sure about my band members but, I personally would love to Collaborate with Mattias IA Eklundh ( Freak Kitchen - Sweden).

According to you, what does it take to earn the acclaimed badge of “Established Artist”?

We genuinely are in search of someone who could guide us to earn the acclaimed badge. Please help us connect with them if you find them. 🙂

Your Highlight performance till date and why so?

There have been quite a few actually. It would be unfair to the audience if we put a finger on one specific gig.  But we definitely are proud of our own tiny little fest that we curated in 2019 called ‘SCARFEST’ The turnout at PARTY LALALA in 2016 was also phenomenal. We also miss playing at Blue Frog. Control Alt Delete - Metal Chapter 01 was massive.

An artist's Best Friend is.......

the sound engineer Because they play a super important rule in making the band sound bigger and better. Its all about the live experience and the sound and light engineers are emotionally involved in the performance.

A piece of equipment that has been absolutely pivotal in onstage performance?

I’ve been using the Laney IRT 120 watt amplifier along with my line 6 Pod HD 500 since 2015. Akash (our engineer) has managed to find a trick or 2 to help us understand it and keep our tone kind of constant at all gigs. So that and my signature 2.0mm guitar pick is something I never compromise on.

What was the first ever instrument/equipment you played?

I remember I purchased a Hobmer F cut acoustic guitar for INR 1500/- way back in 2003-2004. I still have it with me and it still plays and feels great. I learned the basics on it. I came up with basic song ideas and structures with that guitar in my hand. 2 albums happened over it and I am still hanging on to it. So that piece of wood is still my inspiration.

Psychological Harvest

The reason all the bands across India who are still at it is mainly because of the utmost satisfaction we all get after putting out our music. 99% of us have our own professional dimension that pays our bills. But somewhere, we are all different and are looking for an outlet to vent and a place where this form of art is accepted by like minded people.

If we speak to you again exactly this date 5 years from now, How different are all the above answers going to be?

Most of it is going to be the same for sure. Point number 6 and 12 might have a bunch of new additions hopefully.

If we speak to you again exactly this date 5 years from now, your answer to which question would remain unchanged?

The 2nd question will remain unchanged FOREVER.

The Band released a new play-through video with their new bass player, watch it from below:
