The Alchemical Theory and Their Practices

Spread the love. Share this article.

The Alchemical Theory project was born in 2018 from the creative union of three Italian producers: Kill Acid on Space, Unclear and Øyvind (owner of Subosc Records together Kaelan). The identity of the project has been very influenced by the favorite sounds of the three artists, ranging from modular electronic sounds to much more atmospheric sounds. This project also comes from the love of mysticism, alchemy and nature. In each release they want to represent something that affects the listener's mind, reproducing a real mental journey.

Continuing to produce music despite the challenges put forth by covid19, in this difficult period, the Trio are focusing 100% on new tracks and music.

The Trio is working on new interesting releases that will be published in the coming months in various formats. Their musical concept is centered on hypnotic techno and very atmospheric sounds.

What got you into this genre?

We have always been in love with techno in general. From our adolescence until today we have listened to many artists in different clubs and festivals around the world and over the years we have learned to understand the many facets of techno and then get to our musical style.

What are the various equipment and gear you have in your studio to facilitate production?

Our productions are mostly built with the use of virtual instruments (VST), of which many are fundamental for the creation of our sound. We have a lot of fun experimenting the strangest things with using our PCs. We also use various analog machines, such as: Elektron Analog Rytm MKII, 0-Coast, Neutron and others.

Tell us, what does a typical day in the studio means for you?  What inspires your productions?

We don't use a standard for our productions, sometimes we create sounds or drafts separately and then we gather in the studio and join our ideas. Many times the productions also start from a simple random jam. Let's say it all depends on our daily mood.

Not necessarily monetary, how have the rewards been so far in this career?

We are very satisfied with our work so far. The biggest reward for us is the positive feedback from the people who follow us and the other artists who constantly support us.

Is the path ahead more struggling or does it get better from here?

We think the path will always be hard, we do not know if it will be more difficult now, but we will continue to face it in a positive way, working hard to achieve our goals.

How has the struggle been so far to your current stand?

If you mean the current situation that the whole world is experiencing we can say that our area has been hit very hard and we really hope that everything will return to normal soon.

What is the one attribute of this industry that is a bane?

We think that a very negative thing in our sector is the low visibility of new artists who should deserve much more attention having the opportunity to perform in clubs or festivals so as to show their talent, for us this is very important.

How easy/difficult it is to release music in your genre?

This depends a lot on the quality of the music that is produced and on the relationship that can be created with a label.

Who according to you are top 5 labels in your genre?

Semantica Records, Northern Electronics, Hypnus Records, Midgar Records, Subosc Records.

What is your methodology behind a set you play when you open for artists at clubs? What is the creative process behind your sets?

Obviously each of our sets, whether live or not, is designed for each particular party. If we have to make an opening, we focus the line-up well and select the right tracks that perfectly fit the gig.

Which is your dream label?

There are several, but we would very love to release one of our works for Northern Electronics. Would be fantastic!

What’s coming up for You down the road?

For us our final goal is not to be successful, but instead is to leave our mark in the world of electronic music. This is the thing that matters most to us.

Well, thank you once again for spending time with us, giving us valuable insight in to your career. We wish you all the very best of luck in your endeavours. See you soon at a club.
