Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, Raghav Meattle, has a penchant for simple melodies and heartfelt songwriting. As such, he is a storyteller, trying to unravel the world we live in through his music. Raghav's musical endeavors began post a successful stint at 'The Stage', where he ended up as a semi-finalist (Top 6). Following a crowdfunding campaign that resulted in his debut album, 'Songs From A Matchbox', he has been taking his brand of 'vocal first' music around the country, with a string of performances at some of the most coveted platforms for live music, such as the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Ranthambore Music Festival, Ctrl Alt Del and more.

The Spark
It’s everything that I’ve experienced as a person growing up in India - the issues, challenges, positives that I see all around me. That’s what separates me from any other singer-songwriter abroad because I capture things that are intrinsic to a young adult in India.

Matchbox Songs
The album, Songs from a Matchbox, is about my experience living out of a matchbox shaped apartment in Mumbai and everything that I experienced. It’s an ode to my journey as a musician and the various situations I found myself in.

Target Acquisition
I think Instagram is the biggest marketing tool for any independent artist. Spotify and apple music both push out a lot of indie music which is great for an artist like me who’s doing things organically. Biggest struggle is to get mainstream media to acknowledge the popularity of this genre of music.
Bar Talk
Risheeta, the executive producer of the video narrated this concept to me and I was sold. I really wanted to have a visual to the song and thought this was perfect with the narrative of the world shying away from having uncomfortable conversations
Psychological Harvest
All the time - I see a therapist regularly to make sure I don’t go back to slumps. Getting a job also gave me that sense of security that I was craving for. Working at a label also helps grow my network.
India's footprint
It’s so nascent that it’ll take it’s time but I think it’s a great time to be a singer-songwriter/Indie musician in the country. Things are about to blow up and if you’re authentic to your craft, you’ll make it happen!

Real to Reel
I actually haven’t made the switch yet because I was locked down at my parents house in Delhi. I’m back in Bombay now and ready to do this properly. Getting my setup ready to start doing more online gigs.
